Football results: the senior men were defeated by Eire Og in the O’Gara Cup last Saturday in Loughlynn, the minor boy’s defeated Strokestown in the championship last Monday in Strokestown, the u12 boy’s defeated St Faithleach’s in the Summer league last Friday in Ballyleague, the u14 boy’s were defeated by St Michael’s in the championship last Thursday in O’Rourke Park, the u14 girl’s defeated St Dominic’s and Strokestown in the championship last week and the girl’s minor team had a walk over Four Roads in the championship last Thursday. Football Fixtures: the boy’s u14 team play Tulsk in the championship this Tuesday in O’Rourke Park at 7pm and St Dominic’s next Tuesday 4th September in Knockcroghery at 7pm, the senior team play Oran in the O’Gara Cup next Friday in Oran at 7pm, the junior team play Tulsk in the division four league next Saturday in O’Rourke Park at 7pm and the boy’s u12 team play Kilmore in the summer league next Monday in Kilmore at 7pm. Numbers drawn on the night were 1, 11, 23 and 29. €50 winners on the night were Mark Buckley, Marie McDermott, Liam Morgan, Neil Callaghan and Geralyn Gallagher. The U10 boy’s had two teams in the Connaught/Donegal blitz held by Castlebar Mitchell’s last Saturday. Both competed well in division one and division three. Our U 8 boy’s played in the county blitz in the Connaught Centre of Excellence in Bekan Co Mayo last Saturday. There will be a club meeting this Tuesday night 28th August to make arrangements for the 50th anniversary of the formation of Castlerea St Kevin’s when Castlerea and Tarmon amalgamated, and the official opening of the new football pitch and the new stand. All members invited to attend with the intention of pooling ideas for the occasion which will take place on weekend 27/28th October.
