The senior team defeated Strokestown in the second round of the senior championship last Saturday in Strokestown, well done to all concerned. The junior team were defeated by a strong St Brigid’s team in the second round of the junior A championship last Sunday in Oran. Despite missing a lot of players the team never gave up and battled to the end. We commend both Strokestown and Oran clubs on the excellent condition of their facilities despite the poor weather conditions, and we thank them for their hospitality last weekend. We also commend the match officials on their performances at the games last weekend. The u14 boys team play St Michael’s in the division three league final next Saturday in Hyde Park at 6-30pm. The u10 mixed boys and girls team were defeated by Ballintubber in the Community Games competition last week in Enfield. The u12 girls were defeated by Four Roads in the championship last Sunday. Best of luck to all our club members who sit their junior and leaving certificate examinations starting on Wednesday this week. Well done to Rachel Harte and Megan Kelly who were involved with the county u21 team that defeated Mayo in the Aisling McGinn competition played in O’Rourke Park last Sunday.
